Applicants must be Saudi nationals or residents at least 18 years old with no criminal record related to dishonesty or breach of trust. Additionally, the content published in the six months prior to the application must comply with the Authority’s regulations. All social media accounts intended for advertising must be registered and ownership proven to guarantee transparency and credibility. Strict penalties apply for violations, including advertising suspension and fines up to SAR 500,000.

Mandatory Conditions

  • The license applicant must pledge to adhere to the controls regarding content, advertisements, classifications (including age classification), and instructions issued by the Authority.
  • The license applicant must undertake to provide any data, information or reports requested by the Authority.
  • The license applicant must pledge to stop advertising any media content immediately and without objection upon the Authority’s request.
  • The license applicant must pledge not to display any advertisement except through an account registered with the Authority and linked to the license granted to the licensee.
  • The resident or foreign investor is required to have a license (audio and visual media advertising offices, marketing offices, and advertising agencies) and his ownership percentage in the company must not be less than 50%, according to the data registered with government agencies.
