License to Sell and Rent Audio-Visual Media Content
The Retail and Rental Licensing Service for Visual and Audio Media Content is an official permit issued by the General Authority for Media Regulation in Saudi Arabia. It authorizes institutions and companies to sell and rent audiovisual media content through physical or digital means, and electronic stores and digital platforms inside the Kingdom.
Applicants must hold a commercial registration including the relevant media activity, have a clear national address, and possess valid identification (national ID, residency, or passport). Applicants commit not to purchase or distribute any content except from licensed entities holding import and distribution licenses for audiovisual media content. Compliance with the Authority’s terms, technical specifications, and mandatory age rating printing on all sold or rented media is required. Immediate cessation of any content distribution upon Authority request without objection is also mandatory.
The license is valid for three years, requiring renewal before expiration, with fees in accordance with Authority regulations.
