Mandatory Conditions

  • A drone may not be registered if it is already registered in a foreign country.
  • It must be owned by a Saudi citizen or by a legally accepted foreign resident in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (resident).
  • The drone must be registered by its owner using the owner’s legal name, unless the owner is under 18 years of age. If the owner is under 18, the drone must be registered by an individual who is at least 18 years old.
  • Government Fees: - Issuance of a Certificate of Aircraft Registration (Commercial Drone less than 25 kg): 500 SAR. - Issuance of a Certificate of Aircraft Registration (Commercial Drone more than 25 kg): 5000 SAR. - Registration of the aircraft for recreational use: 250 SAR.

  • Required Information for Operating Drones in the Specific Category: - Name of the applicant. For non-individual applicants, - Name of the authorized representative applying for the drone registration certificate. - Permanent mailing address / national address. - If the permanent mailing address is a P.O. Box number, the applicant must also provide a current residential address. - Email address of the applicant or the authorized representative (for non-individual applicants). - Drone manufacturer and model. - Drone serial number, if available.
  • Required Information for Operating Drones in the Open Category: - Name of the applicant. - Permanent mailing address / national address. - If the permanent mailing address is a P.O. Box number, the applicant must also provide a current residential address. - Applicant’s email address.
